Do you still remember your first dream job on your wishlist? Looking back, how was it different from your current aspiration, if any?
Aspirations, ideals, and dreams are destinations on our journey of life. Through the course of pondering and planning, we might have lost our way or simply changed our mind. The experience could be pretty scary while bringing new opportunities.
The meaning of this journey matters with the goals and rationales that keep moving us forward, i.e. "life purpose" in short. It has significant impact on our behaviour, positioning, decision-making, and future careers, for example:
- Values: Our understanding, and judgment criteria, of the people, events, and things around us
- Vision: Who we want to be, and what we want to achieve
- Mission: Values and meanings of our existence
- Contribution: Actions beneficial to the environment at large (incl. society, world, and humankind) that involve giving of oneself
What do you expect of yourself? Do you feel loved and like you belong? And how much do you understand yourself?
